Bio
Kathy A. Fleming has 37 years of experience in non-profits, museums, and arts organizations, including lighthouses, arts organizations, and historic sites, and working with people with disabilities.
She retired as Executive Director of the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum in 2022, after 28 years of service, where she generated over $46 million in new revenues for the museum and grew the annual budget from $150,000 in gross revenues annually to $6.5 million a year. She has been a past president of the Board of Directors of the St. Johns County Visitor and Conventions Bureau and a Past President of the Florida Association of Museums, Inc. She enjoys strategic planning and working on organizational structure and culture.
Today, Kathy owns Allen Fleming Consulting and uses her talents to help small nonprofits thrive. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the United States Lighthouse Society where she serves as Vice President, working with the National Park Service, GSA, and USCG to develop a seminar in March 2025 centering on the 25th Anniversary of the National Historic Lighthouse Preservation Act, a law which she helped to shepherd and for which her organization won a National Trust for Historic Preservation Award. Fleming is married to Andy Fleming, whom she met at Wake Forest University. They have three grown children: a daughter, Phoebe, and the twins, Jack and Zeke. They have two dogs, Dougal MacDougal and Belle. Andy and Kathy live in St. Augustine, FL.
