As a Dean at Oklahoma City Community College he took great pride in serving as an actor in theatrical productions, most memorably as the King in “Once Upon a Mattress”
Served as Executive Director of Arts Festival Oklahoma, the Cultural Awareness Series, and the OK MOZART International Festival. In 1998, he created the Oklahoma Film Institute at Oklahoma City Community College, in collaboration with the Lt. Governor's Office, Oklahoma Film Commission, and Oklahoma Tourism Commission. In part, he led film and video production efforts to elevate the level of professional and commercial film production in Oklahoma.
Served as an American Cultural Specialist and consultant for the U.S. State Department on nine educational and cultural missions; he has been a consultant to the National University of Argentina, National University of Chile, and the University of La Serena; served as an APAP representative to Mexico: Gateway to the Americas; and has been honored by grants from the Institute of International Education, People-to-People, and the National Endowment for the Arts
