Excellence:

  • How does a diverse menu of education programs ensure future generations of opera attendees?  This is anecdotal and I am unsure of any available empirical papers discussing this issue at the this time.
  • What is the organization's definition of "arts-related community activities"
  • $5.00 tickets for HS students is excellent!
  • It is fantastic that the organization can say "every 4th grade student in the county participates"

Impact:

  • The first paragraph discusses a good deal of quality of life contributions.  Any data on numbers of those who participate? Where do the estimates of county residents come from?
  • The outreach programs are excellent, but it would be good to see greater detail relating to local economic development due solely to the organization.
  • The M/P plan is very generic.  There should be much more detail here including, but not limited to: numbers of direct-mail campaigns, social media likes/followers, post reach, work of mouth campaigns and the like.

Management:

  • Congratulations on a highly successful capital campaign!
  • The strategic/5-year plan would be good to include in the application.  Many organizations do not have these plans nor upload them if they do.  As such, it would be a good way to set your organization apart.
  • In the evaluation plan, it would be good to see the surveys used and ways in which they inform decisions on the future direction of the organization.
  • Congratulations on being on-track with a moderate surplus for the current fiscal year.  It would be good to see details how expenditures were better controlled compared to previous seasons to accommodate for the overages.
