Excellence:

  • This is an excellent layout of goals and objectives, both of which are clearly delineated and all objectives are measurable.  Thank you for this model!
  • Excellent level of detail.

Impact:

  • Specific details relating to number of hotel rooms, vehicle rentals, and restaurant visits would be beneficial as well as any data relating to audience trends with hotel stays and dining.
  • Under marketing and promotion, again the details are excellent but it would also be good to see the level of social media outreach via number of likes, follows, and posts.

Management:

  • Excellent idea to form an advisory board and develop a strategic plan. It would also be beneficial to see a timeline of implementation of this strategic plan.
  • Evaluation Plan:Sound plan with good details and the addition of performance reviews in the supplemental materials was a good idea.  It would also be good to see some of the email surveys and results from previous seasons in this section.
  • Budget: Although the attachment has the data needed, it is really in the best interest of the applicants to ensure the data is placed in the form each grant application is to fill.  The uniformity of applications allows panelists an easy way to discern information from organization to organization on an even playing field.
    • Proposal Budget: It is often wise not to use other grants as a source for matching funds as this is sometimes not allowable by other grants.  Additionally, it would be more desirable from public opinion to see grant funds being dedicated to more direct proposal expenses such as marketing or local economic development whether via local cost ensured or local musicians/artists.
