The program has an adequate presentation of an arts and science or STEAM based initiative but it is often vague and lacking specificity needed to clarify what is being funded. Partner roles are adequately presented. The evaluation plan is presented clearly but lacks structure and a tie back to what the program is attempting to achieve. Accessibility activities have some strong points.

CONCERNS: The proposal is often too vague on the role of culture and the arts, the activities are vague, the budget is all personnel but it is unclear what new work will be accomplished and how that relates to the impact, specific goals for recruiting artists or what types of artists will be recruited are not provided, need more details on the artists in residence program, some program detail is very much on the science side f the equation without a justification for the activity being included in an arts and culture application. Science an be an art but the rationale must be given.

Overall the proposal is unfortunately too vague to merit funding.

Evaluation must be directly evaluating stated goals

Not a clear measurement of success if goals are not evaluated.

There must be an economic impact to the community.  this needs to be addressed.

I really appreciate the allocation of grant funds to artists and not administrative. I would love to see more videos of previous art and film programs. I like the diversity of the proposed program and Miami has a lot of talent to draw from (and I like the multiple counties served) and the at-risk youth component. I would like to have seen a proposed 'call to artist' for the quality of artists desired for the program (artist in residency program).
